The main goal of the GSQ is to study the relation between atomic composition and structure, which control the physical and chemical properties of organic, polymers, and inorganic materials. Further, our investigations aim to explore the main advantages of both semi-empirical and first-principles calculations to understand the structural, elastic, electronic, magnetic, optical and ferroelectric properties of several materials class. From this point of view, our mission is to ascertain the mightiness of computer simulations to design new multifunctional candidates in silico.
Another target of our group is scientific globalization. For this purpose, we collaborate with research developments in Canadian and Indian institutes. In our country (Brazil), we cooperate with scientific projects developed by Chemists, Physicist and Materials Engineers in various Universities and R&D institutions.
Professor, researchers, and students are welcome to explore the website to learn more about the ongoing projects in the lab. Please feel free to contact us about scholarship opportunities and innovative projects.
Group of Chemical Simulation (GSQ) from Ponta Grossa State University - Theoretical investigation on Materials Chemistry
We're answering complex questions!
The Research in the GSQ group is focused on using a combination of Theoretical Chemistry, Crystal and molecular structures knowledge and Density Functional Theory calculations to investigate the material properties, with a special interest in the molecular origin of such properties. Thus, we are a theoretical materials science group that aims at to create novel materials, enhancing technological devices and other applications. you can see more about it In Research topics!
